The Eve of a Perfect Storm

Folks, this evening we sit on what I will call the eve of a perfect storm. As we fill our night with Netflix and Facebook, the world we once knew is dying.

Pre-covid. Pre-masks. Pre-lockdowns. Pre-2020.

A time when we could gather with friends and neighbors, strike up conversations with strangers in the supermarket, or heaven forbid, exchange a handshake.

Cancel culture has taken so much from the majority to make the minority feel safe, to pander and appease the self-oppressed. To give everyone their “safe space”.

While we watch the minutes tick until bedtime, the storm is brewing. Sometime during the night, Georgia will declare democratic winners in their Senate race, flipping the Senate to democratic control. Paired tomorrow with a confirmation of a president elect Joe Biden, this will yield all government power to the Democrats, a group led by a man that sold out his country to enrich his family.

Twenty plus years ago I remember conservatives conversing on how China would one day control the US. That day is near. Very near. We have already accepted their masks, their virus, their lockdowns, and the control their government has over their people.

They have all but taken control over our once great country without ever firing a shot. Much like the elder conservatives predicted.

The American dream was founded and funded by small business. Which sector has reaped the wrath of 2020 more than any other? Small businesses are dying at unprecedented rates. Never to open again. Big corporations filling the void. Taking in the profits to be split with the government elites. A pay for play, if you will.

On this eve of the perfect storm, I pray for small business. I pray for the citizens of our once great country. And lastly, I pray that things don’t end the way they appear.

My oh my!

AT games arcade

Picked up this nifty little arcade game controller at Sam’s club last night. Charged it up and played a few games tonight with the kids. Comes with 150 games built in. Mostly old arcade games from the 70’s and 80’s but still pretty fun. Controller feels high quality and reacts reasonably.

Bridgerton on Netflix

Started watching Bridgerton on Netflix last night. Two episodes in. Not bad for a “chick flick”.

Scantron-like Calendar

Need a calendar that you can easily mark off days? Fitness milestones? Etc. I’m sure it could be handy for many things.

Warning 2021

Cut this in the shop last week.

Playground

So I built this last summer for my little guy and the girls. Pretty important to me as used some iron from dads rack to make the railings for a little sentimental touch. I’m really glad my little man can recognize my dad from pictures even if he never met him.

2021 here we come

Last time I updated this blog was about 10 days after my dad died and about 40 days before my son was born.

Wow has life changed. Dad passing changed me forever. Having a child also changed me forever.

Hopefully I’ll write more about those changes in the days to come. With Facebook turning into a leftist island of censorship it’s time to control my content once again….

Holy it’s been awhile

So much to say. So much has happened. I really need to update this site. I think its time I got back to blogging.

Been awhile

Last post was in May, huh? Twitter and Facebook have kind of taken away from my blogging, but that might change in the coming months as Facebook makes more and more changes and I like the experience less and less.

Only time will tell!
