Small Milestone
I hit a small milestone last week. I lost thirty pounds in three months. My goal is another 35, so hopefully by July I will hit my target weight.
I realized that I had gained about 65 pounds in the last 5-6 years and enough was enough, time to lose it.
It actually wasn’t that hard so far. Did about 99% of it by just adjusting my diet. Hardly any exercise, unless you count the added steps I take by parking farther away in the parking lot and using a bathroom on a different floor at work (and taking the stairs there).
As far as the diet goes, I try to eat something in the mornings now. Usually a granola bar or something 150 calories or less… then a 6 inch sub (one of the 6 grams of fat or less) for lunch. Another small snack in the afternoon and then a footlong “good” sub or something consisting of around 500-600 calories at night. Unless I have darts or poker and then I stick to around 300 calories to save room for a few beers.
Pretty painless. I do still eat “bad” around 2-3 times a week when we go out for lunch at work or eat out otherwise. Even then I try to eat better. I have almost completely cut cheese and mayo from my diet. Also nothing but diet soda and water. All milk is now skin and any chips are baked. Pretzels are also good.
It may seem like a lot of stuff to “give-up” but after a month or so you can’t even handle a regular soda or non-baked chips. Still working on the skim milk part…
Anyway here is to the next 35 pounds!
