Funny: Worst Apartment Rental Ad Ever

Date: 2008-12-19, 6:05PM PST

I am a born again Christian. Why is this a problem for people????! I have a house that’s MINE and I PAID FOR IT. I also have a basement apartment for rent. It’s a great space [and] I’m charging very little for it, $480 monthly, for the right tenant. I know it’s ILLEGAL to require a Christian in the apartment, against the human rights. That’s why I NEVER put this in my ad. Why then does it keep getting taken down?

HERE IS THE AD I POSTED, AND THE AD THAT KEEPS GETTING REMOVED:

If you have ever watched Suze Orman on TV you know this brash woman has some tough love for those that spend their money foolishly. Normally her book sells for $10 on Amazon but you can get it now until January 15th from Oprah’s site absolutely free!

Get it now!

Parrot Joke

John received a parrot as an early Christmas gift.
The parrot had a bad attitude and an even worse vocabulary.
Every word out of the bird’s mouth was rude,
obnoxious and laced with profanity.

John tried and tried to change the bird’s attitude by
consistently saying only polite words, playing soft music and
anything else he could think of to ‘clean up’ the bird’s vocabulary.
Finally, John was fed up and he yelled at the parrot.
The parrot yelled back.

John shook the parrot and the parrot got angrier and even ruder.
John, in desperation, threw up his hands, grabbed the
bird and shoved him in the freezer.

For a few minutes the parrot squawked and kicked and screamed.
Then suddenly there was total quiet.
Not a peep was heard for over a minute.

Fearing that he’d hurt the parrot,
John quickly opened the door to the freezer.

The parrot calmly stepped out onto John’s outstretched
arms and said ‘I believe I may have offended you
with my rude language and actions.
I’m sincerely remorseful for my inappropriate transgressions
and I fully intend to do everything I can to
correct my rude and unforgivable behavior.’

John was stunned at the change in the bird’s attitude.
As he was about to ask the parrot what had made such a
dramatic change in his behavior, the bird continued….

……..”May I inquire as to what the turkey did?’

Conn. man’s last lotto ticket wins $10M for widow – Yahoo! News

DANBURY, Conn. – On the day that Donald Peters died, he unknowingly provided financial security for his wife of 59 years and their family.

Peters bought two Connecticut Lottery tickets at a local 7-Eleven store on Nov. 1 as part of a 20-year tradition he shared with his wife Charlotte. Later that day, the 79-year-old retired hat factory worker suffered a fatal heart attack while working in his yard in Danbury.

On Friday, his widow cashed in one of the tickets: a $10 million winner which, in her grief over her husband’s death, she had put aside and almost discarded before recently checking the numbers.

“I’m numb,” Charlotte Peters, 78, said at Connecticut Lottery headquarters in Rocky Hill.

Donald Peters usually bought the tickets for 10 weeks at a stretch, so the winning ticket he bought Nov. 1 for the Dec. 2 drawing was among several that Charlotte Peters put aside as she, their three children and two grandchildren coped with his sudden death.

Since the launch of Facebook Chat, we’ve received a lot of positive feedback from users about being able to connect instantly with their friends on Facebook. With Chat fully launched and growing steadily, we’ve started working on more new features to enhance the Chat experience.

Right now we’re building a Jabber/XMPP interface for Facebook Chat. In the near future, users will be able to use Jabber/XMPP-based chat applications to connect to Facebook Chat to:

Communicate with their friends

See which of their friends are online and view their profile pictures

Set their statuses

Users can securely authenticate and authorize applications to connect to Chat on their behalf and send messages to their friends just like they can on Facebook.

We will share more details as we get closer to launch, but we wanted to give you a heads up so you can start thinking about or even start building Chat into your applications.

Doctor leaves multimillion-pound Bugatti to nephews and nieces

When Harold Carr’s nephews and nieces inherited a dusty old lock-up garage from their eccentric uncle their expectations were low.

But when they opened the doors of the car collector’s Tyneside garage they discovered what may prove to be a life-changing inheritance. Among a trove of classic cars was a 1937 Bugatti – one of only seventeen in the world – that could fetch millions at auction.

The Bugatti Type 57S Atalante, which had spent decades parked alongside other classics, including a Jaguar E-type and an Aston Martin, will be the highlight of Bonhams’ Retro- mobile show in Paris next month.

If bidding reaches upper estimates, it is in the running to become the most expensive car sold at auction, rivalling the 1931 Bugatti Royale Kellner Coupe sold for $8.7 million (£6 million) in 1987. Not bad for a car whose last tax disc expired in December 1960.
