5 Things that should be taught in school

This is a pretty good list of where we are failing our youth…

Especially the finance portion, I don’t know how many of my friends are clueless when it comes to banking and taxes…

How to Rent a Car for Cheap

What if you’re traveling to a far away city and don’t want to
use the insurance replacement method? Call ERES at 1-800-Rent-a-Car and
tell them you’re a State Farm adjustor from [whatever city you’re from].

Your wife/mom/dad/whoever is going to be needing a car in [whatever
city you’re going to]. Here’s some jargon for you, say: “I can’t
exactly send the reservation over on ARMS [the automatic reservation
system, which would make State Farm pay the bill] can you help me get
her setup with my rates?” Insurance adjustors are treated like royalty
at Enterprise, they’ll bend over backwards to make you happy.

The End is Near

Microsoft will not be releasing any security updates today. Although Microsoft typically schedules the release of security updates on the second Tuesday of every month, today is an exception — no bulletins will be issued.

White House lists cuts to pay for more troops

BOGOTA, Colombia — President Bush wants to pay
for his plan to send 8,200 more U.S. troops to Iraq and Afghanistan by
cutting money for agriculture, education and other programs, budget
records show.

Bush’s $3.2 billion plan, submitted to Congress
over the weekend, includes 3,500 new troops for Afghanistan to train
that nation’s army and to fight the resurgent Taliban.

The plan would also send 4,700 more troops to
Iraq to support the 21,500 additional combat troops Bush has already
ordered to Baghdad and Anbar province.

More than $2.5 billion of the request is for
Iraq, about $500 million for Afghanistan. Bush also asked for $100
million for a counterterrorism program in Pakistan.

New troops in Afghanistan will participate in
“training and embedding missions,” Bush told reporters Sunday after a
meeting with Colombian President Alvaro Uribe.

I really hate turning this into a political blog, but some things need to be said and told…

New Camper?

Looks like there is a pretty good possibility that I finally upgraded to a 5th wheel camper. (gotta wait for all the paperwork before it’s official)

More to come, enjoy the nice weather this weekend.

Oh and we are undefeated so far going into the finals of the sponsor tournament this weekend for darts.

Wish us luck…

How Come?

We know exactly where one cow with mad-cow-disease is located among the
millions and millions of cows in America , but we haven’t a clue as to
where thousands of Illegal immigrants and Terrorists are located. Maybe
we should put the Department of Agriculture in charge of immigration.

Knock, Knock, Evolution here…

I don’t know about you but this scares the crap out of me:

Chimpanzees are known to use tools. Many scientific studies, including
Jane Goodall’s famous work with chimpanzees in Gombe, Tanzania, have
documented chimps using tools to complete or simplify tasks like
cracking nuts open and getting termites out of logs. They’ve been
observed using a stick to make an opening in a tree trunk big enough to
where they get get an arm in to pull out some bugs or honey or other
delicacy. But not many researchers have been able to effectively
observe chimps outside of Gombe — it’s hard to get them accustomed
enough to human presence to catch them acting naturally for long
periods of time. And until now, no one has documented a definite case
of chimpanzees using tools to hunt in the traditional sense.

Looks like we are only a few hundred years from having a very flooded job market…
