It’s good to be back!

Yes we are back! Got in about 12:30 this afternoon.

It feels good to have internet again.

We took loads of pictures and I hope to have them posted by the weekend. I have darts tomorrow night and I just found out that Mitch’s bachelor party is on Friday night in Steele.

We are starting to paint the rooms we textured and I will have finished pictures up soon.

Our new sectional and chase lounge are in and are to be delivered Friday.

Got lots to do in the next couple of days. Talk to you soon!

Bill Gates can kiss my computer

Ijust spent an hour jerking around on what Bill likes to call an operating system trying to get the photos off my digital camera.

I guess tomorrow I boot to Ubuntu and do it right in 5 minutes.

What a pile of crap. Why can’t I delete the express developer editions of visual studio without locking the machine? Why can’t the camera software copy the pictures without locking up? I wish I had a monopoly selling crap software…

Vegas day 3

I know this is a little late, but we had a long night last night. We endend up walking the entire strip after going downtown for the light show on Fremont street. I got some great pictures and video which I will be posting when I get home since the internet here is so expensive in this hotel. So far I am about even with gambling thanks to a hot craps table last night. The slots have been just nasty to me but not bad for the others.

Well time to start another day in Vegas!

Best news ever

— Former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein sentenced to death by hanging for crimes against humanity.

vegas day 2

Last night I played craps for about 2 hours. I made about 50 bucks and got free beer the whole time so I think I made out OK.

Starting to miss the internet but I’m going to try toi hold out until the morning.

Been walking the strip most of the day so are feet hurt like hell but been having a blast.

Vegas here we are!

We made it to Vegas without any hassle and are well on our way to becoming broke!

Internet is 11 dollars a day so I’m posting from my blackberry…

I may splurge on internet tommorow though to do some blog reading if we are in the room at all.

We R Stuck Hear in Irak

I’m sure you have all heard about John Kerry’s slip up on the news.

I like the banner I found on Michelle’s website though:

Home Remodel Nightmare

Boy am I glad we haven’t had these problems, yet:

Two years ago — just before I developed my frugal side — my wife and I bought an old house. It was the place of our dreams: two stories, hardwood floors, lots of windows, gorgeous architectural details, several outbuildings, and three-fifths of an acre. The place wasn’t perfect. It had been occupied by the same family for nearly forty years, and it felt like it. We moved in at the end of June 2004 with a huge list of projects.

…..

We called in drywall contractors, got bids, and scheduled a guy to start as soon as possible. Our $500 painting project had turned into a $5000 drywall project.

House Project Almost Done

Last night we got home after work to find that all the walls had been textured and there was a huge mess all over. Thank heavens for all the plastic and tape saving the woodwork and carpets!

Hopefully by tonight all the mess will be removed as well. I cannot beleive the difference. It is like night and day.

I will post the pictures of the finished walls probably when we return from Vegas as I may want to save my flickr bandwidth for those photos…
